What are the outer planets?

The outer planets are Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, as well as the Pluto Charon satellite . These planets were completely unknown to the ancient astronomers. They are very far from the Earth and can hardly be seen. Therefore Uranus was discovered only in 1781, Neptune - in 1846, Pluto in 1930, and Charon only in 1978. Uranus and Neptune are gas giants just like Jupiter Saturn, and Pluto and Charon are made up of solid rock. There is an assumption that they were wandering asteroids, until they came close to the boundaries of the solar system. Then they were captured by the sun's attraction.
