How did the Earth form?

About 4.5 billion years ago there was no Earth or other planets. A dark cloud of hot gas and dust rushed around the newly born Sun. Gradually the cloud cooled down, and the gas condensed (condensed) into millions of drops. These drops were attracted to each other under the influence of gravity - so the Earth and other planets of the solar system were formed. But half a billion years passed before a solid bark formed on the earth's hardening surface, and the atmosphere around the planet was formed.
