How does light refract?

The light is refracted during the transition from one environment to another. Refraction can be seen when the rays of light at an angle pass through the top of a transparent substance, such as glass or water. Different substances in different ways slow down the movement of light waves, which, moving from one medium to another, change the direction of propagation, like, for example, a car that drove one wheel into the sand.
