Where are the pilgrims going?

Pilgrims are religious people who visit holy places and temples around the world. Muslims are keen to visit the sacred city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia at least once in their lives. Hindus go to the city of Varanasi, India, to make a meal in the sacred waters of the Ganges. Christians go to Bethlehem, a city in Palestine, which is considered to be the birthplace of Jesus Christ, or to the great medieval cathedrals of Europe, for example the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
