Who explored the eastern seas?

The Muslim explorer Ibn Battuta, who was born in Tangier in northern Africa, visited India and China in the 14th century. His successor, the Chinese naval commander Chen Ho, made seven long trips to the Pacific Ocean between 1405 and 1433. Chen also explored the seas around India, the Arabian Peninsula and the east coast of Africa. He also sailing eastward in the direction of Malaysia and Indonesia, and perhaps also saw Australia.
