Who ordered to build tall stone towers?

Kings of the South African Shona tribe. Their ancient fortress city is known as Great Zimbabwe - the "city of stone houses". Strong reinforcements were built around it. From their impregnable palaces, the kings of Shona ruled one of the richest empires from 1200 to 1600. Originally, the Shona tribe was engaged in the cultivation of millet and cattle. Later, shona became skilled miners and learned to melt the metals. They traded gold, copper, iron, ivory and leather with Arab merchants who lived on the east coast of Africa, in turn buying glassware and fine porcelain in them.
